Astrologer. Graduate Student M.A. Counseling Psychology. Clinical Intern.

Hi, I’m Amalie.

& just like you, I desire to be in conscious relationship with my process of being and becoming and to feel how my individual process is part of a larger, collective, cosmic process.

Driven by existential curiosity and mystical sensibilities, I found astrology and psychology. Both fields constantly bring me to the edges of my knowing and humble me in lieu of the complexity of our animate cosmos.

Long before I discovered Astrology, I was child born in strange liminal space of Orthodox Judaism and New Orleans culture. Orthodox Judaism instilled in me an unquenchable appetite for scholarship and both Judaism and New Orleans culture taught me the necessity of ritual and community.

The devastation of Katrina placed me in awe of the force of fate and the power of nature that inspires my relationship to astrology and psychology as a means of engaging with forces larger than ourselves that inhabit not only our external ecologies but our internal psyches.

My entire life has been characterized by a ravenous hunger to comprehend the divine structure of the cosmos. This remains the case, but only now am I reckoning with the realization that my pursuits, however intellectually stimulating, are hollow without their embodied application in practical relationship. My decision to pursue a career in psychology comes not from a savior complex to help and heal [‘though I always welcome both as a natural side effect of the work] but rather from an inborn camaraderie I feel to stand side by side with another in our attempts to reckon with the mystery of this life and not only make some sort of meaning out of it, but discover delight in the experience of its many manifestations, even those that our egos would rather discard. Like the astrological chart that contains both benefic and malefic planets, our lives too must contain all, and in being with that, we discover a secret necessity to all things and experiences and learn to embrace amor fati - a love of fate.
From this place of love and desire to be in relationship, fate becomes participatory.

I have been a student of Astrology since 2020 and am currently working towards an M.A. in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. My work blends these two fields together. I currently offer Psychodynamically inspired Astrology and, upon my graduation, will be offering Psychotherapy that incorporates Astrology.

My psychological training is in the field of depth psychology. Specifically I work within the frameworks of psychoanalysis, through which I understand personality and psychopathology, Jungian and post-Jungian analysis, through which I incorporate an imaginal, experiential, process-oriented approach, and parts work, through which I understand the polytheistic and animistic nature of the psyche that is reflected in the planets and stars found in our birth charts.

In addition, I also being educated in trauma informed therapy, somatic therapy, and eco-therapy. I view trauma both through a developmental lens and through the lens of trauma-inducing systems of oppression.
