Allow me to be a guide on your journey

The most fundamental role of a therapist and astrologer is to be a reflective mirror for the querent. Depth psychology views the role of the therapist as a supportive mediator between the querent’s psyche which includes conscious and unconscious processes. The psyche speaks in the language of symbol and metaphor, therefore it is necessary for the therapist to be fluent in the language of archetypes, myths, and symbols. Astrology speaks this language as well.

I understand the natal chart as a mirror of the native’s psyche. I recognize the planets as various parts of Self as well as living beings/forces with whom we are in relationship. These forces [archetypes/gods] appear both internally and externally.

I view the chart through a psychological and a biographical lens and I utilize the techniques of traditional astrology including whole sign house system.

“We think we can congratulate ourselves on having already reached such a pinnacle of clarity, imagining that we have left all these phantasmal gods far behind.  But what we have left behind are only verbal spectres, not the psychic facts that were responsible for the birth of the gods.  We are still as much possessed by autonomous as if they were Olympians.  Today they are called phobias, obsessions, and so forth; in a word, neurotic symptoms.  The gods have become diseases; Zeus no longer rules Olympus but rather the solar plexus, and produces curious specimens for the doctor’s consulting room, or disorders of the brains of politicians and journalists who unwillingly let loose psychic epidemics on the world.” (Jung, Cw 13, par. 54)
